Rob Marshall


Educated at University of Auckland, Rob holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Resource Management and Ecology. He has practiced as a professional Planner in Central and Regional Government roles, and for the past 10 years as a consultant. Rob was Managing Director of award winning property and development consultancy, Cheal and was instrumental in its successful growth and expansion development into the leading consultancy across the Central North Island. As a consultant, Rob has advised clients involved in property across a range of sectors from residential and retail to commercial and specialist infrastructure.

Andy Kilgallo 


Andy is a recent addition to Retail Holdings having joined in 2012. He has over nine years property experience gained at large blue chip corporates in both the UK and New Zealand. Prior to this he spent four years with KPMG where he qualified as a chartered accountant.


Ross Porter


Ross has been with the company since 1992. Prior to this Ross had experience in asset management in a listed property investment company and then as a registered valuer in a private practice. His long history with Urban Partners has seen him undertake various roles and he provides valued experience in development, valuation, leasing and asset and facilities management. Ross looks after Urban Partners’ existing assets with over 100 tenancies within the portfolio. 


Darryl Henry 

Project Director 

Darryl joined Urban Partners in 1985 and is now a Project Director. Over this time he has helped owner Haydn steer the ship and continues to be a significant part of Urban Partners' success. Darryl was instrumental to the development of the Spark Data Centre, where he drew on his funding, development and risk management skill set to deliver an efficient cost structure and a turn key solution for a completed facility

Megan Burgess 

Marketing DIRECTOR 

Megan joined Retail HoldingsUrban Partners in 2006. Prior to this she held marketing and export roles in the New Zealand wine industry during a time of huge growth and change. Megan holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Auckland University and her main focus is working closely with our tenants in Mission Bay on marketing responsible for all Urban Partners marketing activities including those in Mission Bay and PaihiaMegan also oversees other Retail Holdings marketing projects.

Richard Taaffe 

Development Manager 

Richard has considerable experience within the property and development industries. Richard joined Urban Partners in 2010 following stints with Brookfield Multiplex and Pegasus Town, where he managed various stages of residential, commercial and retail projects. Prior to this he undertook a project management role for a residential developer. This role included involvement in running its civil contracting and construction businesses.

Jonny Staples


Jonny became Group Strategy Manager in 2014 having spent 2 years working as a business development at Urban Partner’s subsidiary, Cressida Capital. Prior to joining the group, Jonny spent 5 years in Sydney working at Macquarie Bank and also completing an MBA. Jonny also spent several years in London working in the not-for-profit sector in the early 2000’s. Jonny’s role currently entails research, planning and strategy for Urban Partners. 

Graeme Clark


Graeme has been the in-house lawyer at the company since 2005. Prior to this he was for many years a London-based partner in a multi-national law firm. He qualified in New Zealand and is an admitted solicitor in both jurisdictions. He deals with the day to day legal issues for the group companies and his expertise is in the areas of property, finance and corporate law.

Craig Stobo 


Educated at Otago University, Craig holds a BA in Economics, Honours, First Class. In 2004 he graduated from Wharton Business School’s Advance Management Programme. He has worked as a Diplomat, Economist, Investment Banker and CEO of a funds management company. As Director and CEO of BT Funds Management he was instrumental in establishing the company, building funds under management to $3.5 billion, which was twice awarded fund manager of the year.

Tony Carter

Board Advisor

Tony is a Board Advisor at Urban Partners. He also sits on a variety of other boards, including Air New Zealand (Chairman), Fisher & Paykel Healthcare (Chairman), ANZ Bank New Zealand (Director), Fletcher Building   (Director) and Blues LLP (Chairman). In 2014 he won the Chairperson of the Year Award.

Haydn Staples


Haydn practised as a chartered accountant for ten years before his interest and association with retailing led him into associated real estate, which became the genesis of Urban Partners, (then Retail Holdings) in 1983. In 2003 Haydn eyed an opportunity to convert Urban Partners property knowledge into a finance company, and Cressida Capital was born. This cemented Urban Partners’ philosophy of being a “Portfolio of Competencies” as opposed to a “Portfolio of Properties”.
